How to open PDF files in Separate Windows Instead of New Tabs in Adobe Acrobat Newer Versions?

INTORUDCTION:

Since the new version of Adobe Acrobat, some users noticed that when they open multiple PDF files but it open in one Window under different tabs. However, some users prefer the old way that they would like to see each individual files on a new Window. People use multiple screens to work on several PDFs at once. Sure, you can drag out the tab but it’s annoying and can easily lose track where is what when you work on dozens of PDFs per day.

STEPS:

Go to Edit menu and choose Preferences.

  1. Go to Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  2. Select General and uncheck “Open documents as new tabs in the same Window (requires relaunch).

Version 2023.003.20215: if the option in the General area is not available. Follow:

On the toolbar, select “View” then “Disable new Acrobat”. Documents will be reverted to the previous UI and opened in separate windows.
