How to troubleshoot a system when powered on and you only see a blank screen without any BIOS wordings
Before looking into Windows operating system, check the components that are connected to the PC first:
- Is the monitor connected and tested functional?
There are times when a monitor might go bad, the tech might not notice it and think the problem must be on the CPU, when you see a blank screen, get another working monitor to test it. - Is there an USB storage drive plugged into the USB port?
Unplug all USB storage devices and reboot the machine again. You might ask why it has to do with the USB devices. Well, some systems are pre-configured in BIOS bootup sequence to load from USB devices or CD Rom first.
