How to view System Information on a Remote Computer
Many times you need to find out the System Information on a computer. There are few good third party programs that you can download to view detailed System Information. But Windows has a built-in program Msinfo32 that can do the same job as those third party softwares. To access Msinfo32.exe, simply go to Start and select Run and type in Msinfo32.
Once Msinfo32 is loader, you can view the computer hardware resources, components, and software environment.
To browse configuration information for a remote computer, follow these instructions:
- Open the System Information tool.
- Select Remote Computer on the View menu (or press Ctrl+R). This displays the Remote Computer dialog box.
- In the Remote Computer dialog box, select Remote Computer On The Network.
- Type the computer name in the field provided, and then clicks OK.
NOTE, you will need to be an administrator on the domain or on the remote computer to have access to view System Summary.
