How to toggle the Control Panel view in Windows XP
The default view in Control Panel is divided into Category View, which you won’t see all icons of the Control Panel items. The Category View makes it harder to look for the specific icon and makes you click extra step.
Most of the time when I go to Control Panel, I can quickly locate the applet by looking at the icon in Classic View. However, you can quickly toggle the Category View and Classic View within a click on the left pane of the Control Panel folder.
To change the view in Control Panel, follow these instruction.
1. Go to Control panel
2. Click the Classic View on the left pane if the current view is Category View
3. To change back to Category View, simply click again on the same link
The view setting should be saved for the next time you view again.
