How to manage notification icons on taskbar in Windows 7
As you know the taskbar in Windows has limited space, Windows then groups them and lets user controls which program icon should appear on the taskbar instead of hiding in the taskbar background.
We will need to go into the Customize section of the notification area in the taskbar properties. In there you can choose “hide icon and notifications”, “only show notifications”, and “show icons and notifications”.
Some applications you like the notification shown up on the taskbar such as email client Outlook so you know instance receipt of new email. Instant Messenger programs also should be shown up on the taskbar so that you will not miss the chats with friends.
To control the display of icons in the notification area, follow these steps:
- Right-click the taskbar, and then click Properties.
- On the Taskbar tab, under Notification Area, click the Customize button.
- Choose one of the following options that you like:
- Hide Icon And Notifications Never displays the icon and notifications
- Only Show Notifications Displays only notifications
- Show Icon And Notifications Always displays the icon and notifications
4. When you have finished updating the notification entries, click OK twice.
