How to enable or disable taskbar thumbnail preview in Windows 7

Windows 7 has some new features than Windows XP. One of the features is thumbnail preview in taskbar when you place the mouse over on it. However, not everyone likes this fancy feature. If you want to disable the taskbar thumbnail preview, this article is for you.
There are different ways to enable or disable the taskbar thumbnail preview. You can edit the Group Policy Editor under User Configuration, Administrative Templates, and Start Menu and Taskbar. Another way is to edit the Windows Registry in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
This article will take the easier method under Advanced System Settings. For detailed instructions, follow these instructions.
- Right-click My Computer icon and choose Properties.
- Click Advanced System Settings on the left pane.
- Click Advanced tab and click Settings under Performance section.
- Uncheck/check 'enable desktop composition'.
- Click Ok to save the settings.
