How To Prevent Your System Infected From Virus
Many people ask me that their computer is slow, the first impression come accross my mind is that they are infected by virus, spywares or malwares.
There are many ways a virus, spyware or malware can attack your PC. The most common way is from downloading warez websites or adult websites. Many people ask why they don't download or install any programs but why still get infected. Yes, since by default, I assume many of your Windows XP login are administrators. When you go to those websites, your web browser automatically download their scripts that are already embeded in HTML.
Then how do I avoid that?
- Install antivirus programs. Such as the commercial ones: Symantec, Kaspersky, McCafee. Or the free ones such as AVG, avast. Every PC should have a good antivirus program installed. There are new virus out everyday, without any protections, your PC is vulnerible and can be attacked secretly in background.
- Don't go to those unauthorized downloading websites or adult websites. I would say 99% of these kind of sites have some kind of spyware scripts.
- Don't click on unknown links from email. Never open the links from email that you don't know, this could be a fake message telling that your bank account is out of date and require you to provide your username and password.
- Don't accept unknown files from chatting programs. Many people chat online and sometimes they might request to accept to receive files, these files can be a fake JPEG but with exention .exe which is very dangerous to click.
Another safe and effective way is to create a limited accesss user account so that it does not have privillege to install any programs. Therefore the virus, spywares or malwares can not modify regedit files.
From control panels, double click on User Accounts:
- Click on Create a new account:

Type a name for new account:

Then click on Limited to pick an account type:
