Laptop screen is black but the power is on

ISSUE

When you turn on your laptop you see the power is on but you only see a black screen with no video. You restart the machine and unplug the battery but issue does not resolve.

CAUSE

Whenever you turn on your computer and you don’t see the BIOS is loading, you should spend time to troubleshoot the power supply and memory, sometimes it’s motherboard. But in this case, it looks like more about the battery.

SOLUTION

1. Unplug the power adapter.

2. Take the laptop battery out.

3. Press and hold down the laptop power button for about 30 seconds.

4.  Replug the laptop battery and power adapter.

5. Try to start it up again.
