HP DV2000 laptop Recovery partition

ISSUE

For whatever reasons you have a HP DV2000 laptop but no recovery disk and now the system is acting up and you wonder if it’s possible to reinstall the recovery software.

If you don’t have the recovery system disk for HP DV2000 laptop and you want to reinstall the OS, you can still be able to do so if the hidden recovery partition is not deleted or formatted.

CAUSE

There should be a hidden recovery partition on your laptop if your laptop is not given to a computer shop for repair and they wipe out. I know many people they don’t know about it and when they try to reinstall the operating system, they just wipe out everything on the hard drive.

SOLUTION

Step 1: Right-click "My Computer" and click "Manage"

Step 2: Go to "Disk Management"

Step 3: Right-click the "Drive D/Recovery Partition" and click "Mark Partition as Active"

Step 4: Reboot the machine.

Step 4: While the machine is loading on BIOS, keep tapping the F11 key as it starts up.

NOTE: If F11 does not work, try F10 and it should bring up the Recovery Partition.
