How to save an Office document as TIFF file

When you install Microsoft Office, you will notice that there is an icon Microsoft XPS Document Writer in the Printers and Faxes folder. This is not a printer, instead, it’s a driver that can convert Office documents into image files. For example, you can save your Office documents into TIFF format using this tool.

The Microsoft Office Document Image Writer print driver is a component of the Microsoft Office Document Imaging program and is installed with your Office program. To use this option, you have to use the Print function from your Office applications.

To save an Office documents as TIFF file, follow these instructions:

1.Open the document you want to save as TIFF file.

2.On the File menu, click Print.

3.In the Name list in the Print dialog box, click Microsoft Office Document Image Writer.

4.Click Properties.

5.In the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.

6.Under Output format, select the TIFF - Monochrome Fax option, and then click OK.

7.In the Print dialog box, click OK.

8.In the Save as dialog box, select the View Document Image check box, and any additional options you want, and then click OK.

9.Make any changes you want to the document in Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
