How to disable cached exchange mode in Office Outlook 2003

Cached exchange mode allows you save a copy of your mails from the mail server to your local computer so that you can access your mails more quickly. However, this feature creates some common Outlook problems that you might need to disable this option in order to fix.

This article describes how to disable the cached exchange mode in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.

To continue to disable the cached exchange mode in Office Outlook 2003, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Tools menu in Outlook 2003.
  2. From Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts.
  3. Choose View or Change exiting E-mail Accounts.
  4. Click Next to go to next window.
  5. Click Change button with the default Exchange server selected.
  6. Uncheck the box Use Cached Exchange Mode.
  7. Click Next and Next.
  8. Click Finish to save settings.
  9. Exit out Outlook to take effect.
