How to create Hotmail Aliases

Hotmail allows you to have multiple email address and manage them in one Hotmail ID. To manage multiple Hotmail IDs, you create different aliases for different purposes. For example, if you don’t want to use your main email address when filling online forms, you can use the Hotmail aliases.

After you create an alias, it creates a folder in your main Hotmail account. When email is sent to the alias, it will store into the folder for that alias. Hotmail alias can keep away the spam email to your main mailbox.

To create Hotmail alias, follow these instructions.

  1. Log into your Hotmail account, click the gear icon on the Inbox
  2. Click on Create Hotmail Alias.
  3. Enter an email address that you want to use as an alias; you may need to choose a meaningful one since it has already taken.
  4. The mails sent to your email address can be directed to a folder or go straight to your inbox. You will be asked to either create a new folder or choose an existing folder. Once you have made the choice, click Done.

NOTE: Continue to use your primary email address to log into Hotmail.  You will not be able to use an alias to login.
