How to change the timezone in Hotmail

When you first sign up your Windows Live Hotmail, you have to choose the country and local timezone. The timestamps on your received emails will show the time corresponding to your timezone.

Please note that the timestamp on received mail is not depend on your computer time, changing your computer time does not affect on the mail server you set on Hotmail timezon.

To change the timezone in Windows Live Hotmail, follow these instructions.

1. Sign in to your Windows Live Hotmail account.

2. At the upper-right corner of your Hotmail page, click Options and then More options.

3. Under Managing your account, click Account details (password, aliases, time zone).

4. Retype your password if you're asked to sign in again.

5. At the Account overview page, click the Change link beside the Country/region field. You should be redirected to the Registered Information page.

6. Under Home Location, choose your correct country and time zone.

7. Click Save.
