How to restore to factory setting with Gateway PC
Not everyone new PC comes with a Windows CD, but most of the PCs have a hidden restore partition that you can restore your system into factory settings. But all your data in your hard drive can be lost if you don’t back them up.
To access to the restore partition, each make model could be different. You can look at the screen carefully when the system boots up, it shows on the top after the BIOS loads.
This article is for Gateway PC to restore factory settings, please backup your data before you continue and follow the instructions:
- Hold down the ALT key and hit the F10 while system is booting up.
- Choose HDD when the boot sequence screen comes up.
- Hold down the ALT key and hit the F10 again.
- The Gateway Recovery Management screen shows up, choose Restore from factory default.
NOTE: This process will wipe out your hard drive and your data will be lost.
